WaSeaBi represented at the 49th WEFTA Conference

WaSeaBi was represented at the 49th West European Fish Technologists Association (WEFTA) Conference which took place in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands from the 15 - 17 October 2019.

Several representatives from the project attended the conference to inform about the project and to present results.
Among the participants were Grethe Hyldig and Charlotte Jacobsen from DTU Food who contributed with a poster presentation titled "Underutilized and new aquatic biomasses", which is based on work package 1 (WP1) in the project.

In addition, HAIZHOU WU, from Chalmers University of Technology gave a presentation on “Extending the shelf life of herring by-products to increase the possibilities for value-adding” which included results from the WaSeaBi project

At the WEFTA conference food scientists, PhD students and fish processing industries meet to present their latest research achievements and share valuable experiences in the field of fish industry and aquatic products, quality and safety.

Poster based on WP1

The main objective og WP1 is to identify hurdles and bottlenecks that prevent exploitation of side-streams and by-catches.
