Chalmers (11500 students, 2700 employees) performs leading research within life sciences, materials science, information technology, micro-and nanotechnology, environmental sciences and energy.  Food and Nutrition Science (FNS) focuses on: 1) food quality, including lipid/protein oxidation, 2) processes for isolation of functional & bioactive substances like proteins from food process side streams, 3) biological techniques for improvement of nutritional properties of foods, 4) in vitro bioavailability of essential nutrients and mechanisms for absorption, (v) metabolomics/nutrigenomics, 5) effects of food bioactives on physiological functions.
